About Dr. Dhanani
Originally from Virginia, Dr. Dhanani was inspired to go into oral and maxillofacial surgery because it allows him to make a positive difference for people through a unique blend of dentistry and medicine.
With a patient-centric model in mind, Dr. Dhanani aims to provide comfortable and positive experiences to his patients. Dr. Dhanani’s mission is to provide the highest quality of care with compassion to every patient. After moving to Maryland, Dr. Dhanani joined Akeso Oral, Facial, and Dental Implant Surgery in July 2023. He looks forward to serving the greater Baltimore communities.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of work, Dr. Dhanani enjoys hanging out with family and friends, playing and watching basketball, going to the beach, hiking, traveling, and learning about different cultures. He is a DC area sports enthusiast and likes going to live sporting events. He takes great interest in history and enjoys going to museums. Some of his memorable travel experiences include visiting Machu Picchu and historical sites in Spain and Portugal.
Education & Residency
After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, Dr. Dhanani earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Following graduation, he began his rigorous four-year residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Broward Health Medical Center/Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During his residency in South Florida, he was trained extensively in a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. His training included surgical extraction of teeth, dental implant surgery, facial trauma, management of both benign and malignant oral pathology, oral and maxillofacial reconstruction, and orthognathic surgery. He was awarded his specialty certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery and served as the chief resident during his final year of training. In his final year, Dr. Dhanani earned the "Resident of the Year" award for his outstanding service, academic excellence, and commitment to medicine.
